Cat Forest/ Lion Overlook

Cat Forest/Lion Overlook provides adventurers with a closer look into the lives of lions, tigers, snow leopards and a variety of wild cats in habitats similar to their native homes.

This 4.2 acre habitat features nine species of cats and more than 4,000 plants replicating the animals' native environments. Separated by specially-designed boundaries, adventurers have a unique and exciting feeling of one-on-one interactions with the cats.

The exhibit's two interpretive centers provide a comfortable atmosphere for visitors to enjoy many of the cats up close in natural surroundings. Educational and inspirational graphics help illuminate the alluring ways of cats, shed light on their conservation needs and teach about their homelands.

In May 2008, the Zoo welcomed the birth of two snow leopard cubs. The cubs, one male and one female, can be seen daily from 8 a.m. to noon at the Zoo's Cat Forest habitat, weather permitting. For more information on the snow leopard cubs, the lion cubs born last November and a variety of other Zoo happenings, check out our MySpace page at www.myspace.com/okczoo.

Journey into a world where the wild meets the civilized. Where the loudest sound you hear may be the pounding of your own heart.
