Volunteer Programs

Have you ever wanted to go behind-the-scenes at the Zoo and have some wild “tails” to tell?  Now you can by participating in the Zoo’s volunteer program!  The Zoo offers volunteer opportunities for enthusiastic, responsible and dedicated individuals ages 14 and over.  For more information about the Zoo’s volunteer programs, click here to visit the Education Department’s web site or call the Zoo’s volunteer coordinator at (405) 425-0275.

Junior Curator Program
Hey, teens!  Are you interested in learning what it takes to run a Zoo?  Teenagers ages 14 to 18 are invited to join the Zoo’s Junior Curator program.  Work behind-the-scenes and help with animal care, special events and more.  Junior Curator applications are available online beginning May 15 and will be accepted through June 15. Applications are also available at the Zoo's Guest Relations office and Rosser Conservation Education Center.

Adult Volunteer Program
The Zoo offers a variety of adult volunteer opportunities for individuals ages 18 and over.  Whether you have a passion for the Zoo’s animals, plants or visitors, we have a job for you!  The Zoo’s Education Department hosts open houses for the Adult Volunteer program throughout the year.  There will be a volunteer open house on Saturday, June 6 at 12 p.m. at the Zoo's Rosser Conservation Education Center.

The Zoo is a fully accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the American Association of Museums (AAM) as both a living museum and a botanical garden. AZA accredited facilities are dedicated to providing excellent care for their plants and animals, a great experience for guests and a better future for all living things.
