Let Your

Run Wild!

The Oklahoma City Zoo and Dr Pepper invite Oklahoma students to participate in the 11th annual Dr Pepper Vending Machine Art Contest for a chance to win Visa gift cards and art supplies, and have their illustration become the cover of a Dr Pepper machine at the Zoo. Students in kindergarten through twelfth grade may submit entries from February 26 through March 31, 2015. Entries will be judged on creativity, meeting art specifications and relevance to this year’s contest theme, “Get Creative for Conservation”.

From its amazing animals to beautiful gardens, the Zoo is alive with art! But conserving and protecting this natural art takes everyone, and the Zoo wants to know how YOU would help. In your design, illustrate ways you can help protect the Earth’s natural resources. Draw inspiration from your favorite Zoo animals including Achara, the Zoo’s new baby Asian elephant; Rupert, our young Indian rhinoceros; or Leom, a two-year-old Western lowland gorilla.

Two grand prize winners will receive a $300 Visa gift card, a gift basket from Porch School & Art Supply, a certificate and their design will become the cover of a Dr Pepper machine at the Zoo for an entire year for thousands of Zoo guests to admire. Other winners will receive certificates and Visa gift cards ranging from $25 to $100, all courtesy of First Security Bank.

Teachers of participating students will be entered into a random drawing to win one of three $50 gift cards from Porch School & Art Supply.

Students may enter through their school, home school, civic group (e.g. Scouts), or on their own. Entries become property of the Oklahoma City Zoo and must be postmarked by March 31, 2015. The winning designs will be unveiled during the Zoo’s earth day celebration, Party for the Planet, on Sunday, April 26, at 2 p.m.
