JANUARY

Ongoing: Free admission on Mondays through February 25

1/1:    New Year’s Day – The Zoo is closed.

FEBRUARY

Ongoing: Free admission on Mondays through February 25

2/2:    Groundhog Day (10 a.m.) – The Zoo’s “wild” meteorologists make their annual prediction.

2/18:  Dr Pepper Vending Machine Art Contest – Kids in grades K-12 are eligible. Entry forms available at okczoo.com and will be accepted through March 29.

MARCH

Spring Break:  Animal feedings begin and continue through October 31; Sea Lion Shows and Elephant Presentations begin. Please visit the Rides and Attractions page for a list of dates and times.

3/4-3/10:  Enter our Sesame Street Live, “Can’t Stop Singing" giveaway for a chance to win show tickets or Meet & Greet passes to a Sesame Stree Live performance March 15-17 at the Cox Convention Center. Also, bring your Sesame Street Live ticket stub to the ZooFriends membership office and save $10 off of a ZooFriends membership. Valid through March 31.

3/11:   Opening of the Children's Zoo water stream and new Explore A Seashore Touch Pool.

3/16:   Our weekend Keeper Connections begin March 16 and continue through October 27, weather permitting. Please visit the Rides and Attractions page for a list of dates and times.

3/23:   Poison Control Awareness (11 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

3/29:   Dr Pepper Vending Machine Art Contest application deadline

3/31:   HOPabaloo (1p.m. -3 p.m.) – Hop to the Zoo for brunch with the Easter bunny, and a day of fun including an egg hunt with prizes for kids 5 and under. Call (405) 425-0262 to make your brunch reservations.

APRIL

4/9:     Read Across Oklahoma 2013 (9a.m.-1p.m.)

4/13:   Smile Safari (10a.m.-2p.m.)

4/14:   ZooTroop Run at the Zoo - RESCHEDULED TO NOVEMBER 2.

4/14    Malee’s Birthday Bash (1p.m. - 3p.m.) – Join us as we celebrate little Malee’s 2nd birthday! 

4/15:   Gorilla Golf (TBD) – Get on the green in support of gorilla conservation. Join us at Fairfax Golf Club for this annual even. Call ZooFriends at (405) 427-2461 to learn more.

4/18:   ScienceFest

4/20:   Evening EscApe (6:30 p.m.) - Enjoy dinner at Great EscApe and support the Zoo. Visit www.zoofriends.org to register.

4/21:   Party for the Planet (11a.m.-3p.m.) – The Zoo wants to celebrate Earth Day with you! Live entertainment, animal feedings, giveaways and more.

4/27:   OKC National Guard Appreciation Day (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.)

MAY

Stingray Bay Opening: NEW at the Zoo this May, Stingray Bay! Catch the wave and encounter stingrays up close. It’s a fun, hands-on experience the entire family will enjoy. Exact opening dates will be announced.

5/4:     Stay Late on Saturdays begins – The Zoo stays open until 8 p.m. on Saturdays through September 7.

5/11:   Ostrich Egg Breakfast (8-11a.m.) – A tasty tradition that the entire family will enjoy. Call (405) 427-2461 for tickets.

5/11:   Zoolympics (10a.m.-2p.m.) – Go for the gold! Activities and health information for kids and families!

5/12:   Mother’s Day – Moms get in for free.

5/17:   Endangered Species Day

5/17:   Evening with the Elephants - Visit www.zoofriends.org to learn more and to register.

JUNE

6/4:     Wild Tuesdays Story Time Safaris begin. Tuesdays in June and July, kids 11 and under are invited to hear stories, meet a Zoo keeper and receive a free drink from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

6/8:     World Oceans' Day

6/16:   Father’s Day – Dads get in for free.

6/21:   Zoobilation 2013 (7 p.m. -11p.m.) – A great cause. A wild time. Must be 21 to attend. Call (405) 427-2461 to learn more.

JULY

7/3:        Way Back Wednesdays begin. In July and August, the Zoo is offers way-back admission prices and concession specials.

7/1:        Zoo Rise begins. The Zoo opens at 8 a.m. through August 25.

7/17:      Sales Tax Appreciation Day – Free admission for everyone.

AUGUST

OCTOBER

10/5:  OKC Zoo Halloween Costume Swap (10a.m.-2p.m.)

10/5-10/13: Pumpkin Drive – Bring a pumpkin larger than your head and receive free Zoo admission.

10/6:  Pistol Pete's 90th Birthday Celebration at the Zoo (2 p.m.)

10/26-31:   Haunt the Zoo for Halloween (6:30-8:30p.m. nightly) – It’s the 30th anniversary of the most fa"boo”lous Halloween event in town. Six nights of trick-or-treating fun. Cost is $7 per child and adults are free.

NOVEMBER

11/2 - ZooTroop Run at the Zoo

11/11:  Veteran’s Day – All active duty, active reserves and retirees and up to five guests receives free admission.

11/16:  America Recycles Day.

11/27:  Free Day at the Zoo.

11/28:  Thanksgiving Day – The Zoo is closed.

DECEMBER

Ongoing: Free admission on Mondays through February.

Ongoing: ZooFriends members will receive 25% off of all purchases made at the Zoo’s Safari Gift Shop during the month.

12/1-24:  Deck the Zoo – Bring an edible ornament to the Zoo and receive admission for $1 through December 24.

12/9:       Santa Delivers (10:30-11:30a.m.) – Santa will visit the Zoo. Enjoy free hot chocolate and doughnuts (while supplies last).

12/25:    Christmas Day – The Zoo is closed.
