JANUARY

Free admission on Mondays.

01:        New Year’s Day – The Zoo is closed.

31:        Tatu’s 40th Birthday Celebration (1:30-3:30 PM) / Gorilla Interpretive Building in Great EscApe, OKC Zoo

 

FEBRUARY

Free admission on Mondays.

Behind the Scenes Tours (February-October) – Adventure awaits! For information about purchasing a tour visit okczoo.com.

02:        Groundhog Day (10 AM)–Join in the fun as our animal ambassadors make their annual prediction. This event is free to attend.

23:        Dr Pepper Vending Machine Art ContestOklahoma students in K-12 are eligible. Wild prizes and the chance to have your design on a Dr Pepper machine at the Zoo. Come on, get creative! Entry forms available at okczoo.com. Contest ends March 31.

 

SPRING

New Joan Kirkpatrick Animal Hospital opens.

Stingray Bay opens for the season.

 

MARCH

14:        Weekend Keeper Connections (Saturdays and Sundays through October 31) – Schedules available in Guest Relations and online at okczoo.com.

14:        Sea lion presentations begin.

 

APRIL

05:        HOPabaloo (11 a.m. -3 PM) – Hop to the Zoo for brunch with the Easter bunny and a day of fun, including an egg hunt with prizes for kids, ages 3 to 6. Call (405) 425-0262 to make your brunch reservations.

07:        Read Across Oklahoma 2015 (9 AM-1 PM)

11:        The Color Run in the Oklahoma City Adventure District – Volunteer to help with the run in support of the OKC Zoo. Learn more at okczoo.com or TheColorRun.com.

18:        Evening EscApe (6:30 PM) – Enjoy dinner at Great EscApe and support a gr“ape” cause. Visit www.zoofriends.org to learn more or to register.

19:        Malee’s Birthday Bash (1-3 PM) – Join us as we celebrate little Malee’s birthday! 

26:        Party for the Planet (11 AM-3 PM) – Let’s celebrate this wonderful world and the wildlife we share it with!

 

MAY

JUNE

Wild Tuesdays Story Time Safaris (9:30 & 10:30AM): Tuesdays in June and July kids 11 and under are invited to hear stories, meet a Zoo keeper and receive a free drink.

05:        World Oceans Day (10 AM-2 PM)

19:        Zoobilation 2015 (7-11 PM) – A great cause. A wild time. Must be 21 to attend. Call (405) 425-0618 to learn more.

19 - July 10: GO ON A SOCIAL SAFARI AT THE OKC ZOO - When you visit the Zoo between June 19 and July 10, the Zoo, with support from AT&T, invites you to share your favorite pictures and selfies from your Zoo visit on social media for a chance to win of one of four weekly prizes. Just snap a pic at the Zoo, post it to Twitter or Facebook using @okczoo, tag it using #att and you could win. Winning photos will be announced each Thursday at 4 p.m. Photos entries are ineligible if they are tagged with #att. Need not be present to win. Must be 18 or older and an Oklahoma resident to win. Photo ID required to claim prize. Regular admission costs apply to visit the Zoo.

21:        Father’s Day – Dads get in for free with any paid admission.

27:        National Guard Appreciation Day. All National Guard personnel and their families will receive $1 admission with coupon. The coupon can be picked up at the front entrance on the day of the event.

Wild Tuesdays Story Time Safaris (9:30 & 10:30AM story sessions)

Way Back Wednesdays - Wednesdays in July and August the Zoo is offering a way-back admission price of $1 per person. On Wednesdays, guests can also experience our new “wild enrichment” sessions to learn how the Zoo’s keepers work to enrich the lives of the animals in their care every day. See several of your favorite Zoo animals enjoying special treats and other forms of enrichment. Animal enrichment provides an environment that stimulates natural behaviors with special or new exhibit design, training, food or sensory activity. “Wild Enrichment” sessions are free and will take place weather permitting. The 2015 schedule follows:

  • 9:30 a.m.     Oklahoma Trails: Rotates between Grizzly bears, Black bears and otters
  • 10:30 a.m.   Lower aquarium gallery: Noble Aquatic Center
  • 11 a.m.        Sea Lion presentation (regular fee of $2/person applies)
  • 11 a.m.        Alligator Snapping Turtle (Big Rivers building, Oklahoma Trails)
  • 1 p.m.          Sea Lion presentation (regular fee of $2/person applies)
  • 1:30 p.m.     Andean Condor (across from the picnic pavilions)
  • 1:30 p.m.     African Wild Dog pups
  • 1:30 p.m.     Orangutans and Chimpanzees (Great EscApe)
  • 2 p.m.          Elephants presentation
  • 2 p.m.          Spider Monkeys (Children’s Zoo)

OCTOBER

03-11:  Pumpkin Drive – Bring a pumpkin larger than your head and receive free Zoo admission that day.

03:       OKC Zoo Costume Swap (10 AM-2 PM)

04:       Pistol Pete’s 92nd birthday celebration at the Zoo (2 PM)

26-31:  Haunt the Zoo for Halloween (6:30-8:30PM nightly) – Join us for the most fa”boo”lous Halloween event in town with six nights of trick-or-treating fun. Cost is $7 per child and adults are free.

 

NOVEMBER

01-30:   Cell Phone Challenge – Learn more at okczoo.com.

11:        Veteran’s Day – All active duty, active reserves, retirees and up to five guests receives free admission.

14:        America Recycles Day (time to be set)

25:        Free day at the Zoo.

26:        Thanksgiving Day – The Zoo is closed.

 

DECEMBER

Two-for-One Tuesdays: Buy one admission ticket and get one free (of equal or less value) each Tuesday in December.

ZooFriends members will receive 25% off all purchases made at the Zoo’s Safari Gift Shop during the month.

01-31:   Wild Wish Tree – Visit okczoo.com to learn how you can become a secret Santa for the Zoo’s animals!

14:        Santa Delivers (10:30-11:30AM) – Santa will visit the Zoo. Enjoy free hot chocolate and doughnuts (while supplies last).

25:        Christmas Day – The Zoo is closed.
