Naturalist Instructor/Volunteer Coordinator

Description

The Oklahoma City Zoological Park is looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and motivated individual who will, under general supervision, develop lesson plans for and/or teach a variety of interpretive conservation education classes/programs and coordinate and direct two volunteer programs. The ideal candidate must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with adult/juvenile volunteers, teachers, other Zoo staff, and the general public. This individual must also possess excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to teach in an informal educational setting to audiences of varied ages and interests.

Requirements: Experience equivalent to three years full time, licensed classroom teaching in the areas of Zoology, Biology, Natural History, Life Science, or closely related subjects or relevant experience in a zoo setting, along with one year full time volunteer coordination responsibilities. Must possess a valid Oklahoma motor vehicle operator’s license. Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
