The Zoo is looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, motivated, and people-oriented individual who will plan, coordinate, and direct the day-to-day operations and long term management of the Zoo. The ideal candidate must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Zoo staff at all levels, Oklahoma City Zoological Trust members, Oklahoma Zoological Society officers and directors, City of Oklahoma City officials, management staff in Zoos around the world, State, Federal, and International regulatory officials, and the public. This individual must also possess excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to use a combination of experience and interpersonal skills to function effectively as a leader in a team environment.

Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Zoology, Animal Management, Animal Husbandry, Animal Science, or closely related area and experience equivalent to ten years full time curatorial level work managing an exotic/zoo animal collection, at least three years of which must have been at the level of General Curator; OR a graduate level degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Zoology, Animal Management, Animal Husbandry, Animal Science, or closely related area may substitute for one year of the required curatorial experience. Must hold a Professional Fellow membership in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
