Daily Attractions

Note - All Zoo rides and attractions operate weather permitting of 55 degrees or higher with wind, rain and heat considerations. No guarantee of the following schedules can be made and all attractions are subject to change without notice.

New! Splash Pass - Enjoy each Sea Lion Presentation and one visit to Stingray Bay for $4 per person (Wednesdays through Sunday). Tickets sold at the Global Plaza ticket booths, Stroller window or ZooFriend's office. Splash Passes are available mid-March through Labor Day.

New Zoo-It-All Pass - Enjoy the convenience of unlimited rides and attractions for $25 per person (does not include Zoo admission.) For one price, you receive the freedom to explore the following attractions as many times as you wish: Carousel, Choo Choo train, Elephant Express, Giraffe Feedings, Explorikeet Adventure (including 2 cups of nectar), Sea Lion presentations (Wed. - Sun.), and Stingray Bay (including 2 feedings).

Centennial Choo Choo (closed until March)

 

Cost: $2 per person per ride. Children 2 and under are free, with paying adult.

NOTE: Please note that the Choo Choo train does not operate on wet or icy tracks.

Children's Zoo Barnyard

 

An interactive “touch” area with barnyard animals selected because of their gentleness with children. Each one is a rare species. The collection includes guinea hogs Fergie and Fancy; miniature donkeys Jasmine and Pinkee; 12 Nigerian dwarf goats (each named after an Oklahoma town) Gotebo, Norman, Duncan, Edmond, Bixby, Hugo, Perry, Oologah, Bowlegs, Chandler, Dewey and Jet; tunis sheep Sarabi and Tallulah; and rare rabbits and chickens.

Mid March - October: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., daily, weather permitting

November - Mid March: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., daily, weather permitting

Children's Zoo Water Stream (closed until March)

 

Open daily throughout the spring and summer seasons. Children may get wet and need a change of clothes.

Elephant Express

 

The Elephant Express shuttle services is located just past the ticket turnstiles to transport guests to and from the Elephant habitat of the Zoo.

Mid March - October:  Daily, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., weather permitting

November - Mid March: Daily, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., weather permitting

Cost: Children 2 and under are free with paying adult; $2 per person (one way).

Elephant Presentations (closed until March)

 

All presentations are weather permitting with a temperature above 55 degrees.

March 1 - October 31: Daily presentations at 2 p.m. in the Elephant Pavilion, weather permitting. A Keeper Chat is also scheduled for Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. on the Elephant Boardwalk.

Endangered Species Carousel

 

Mid-March - October:  Daily, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., weather permitting

November - Mid-March: Daily, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., weather permitting

Cost: $2 per person per ride. Must be 42 inches tall to ride alone.

Located by Zoo Lake and Carousel Cafe.

Explorikeet Adventure

Mid-March - October:  Daily, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., weather permitting

November - Mid-March: Daily, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., weather permitting

Cost: Free to enter; $3 to feed.

Located in the Children's Zoo.

Giraffe Feeding Platform

 

Mid-March - October: Daily from 11 a.m. - 12 noon and 1:30 - 2:30 p.m., weather permitting

November - Mid March: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1:30 - 2:30 p.m., weather permitting

Cost: $3 per person

Horticulture Happenings

 

Where is the Botanical Garden, you ask?

The entire Zoo is an accredited living museum and botanical garden!

The Zoo includes more than 30,000 specimens of flowering bulbs, unusual and hard-to-find plants and more than 100 Oklahoma native species--29 of which are listed as imperiled or rare. The Zoo also is home to the largest, walk-through outdoor Butterfly Garden in Oklahoma and many designated horticultural displays and collections. Identification plaques and labels distinguish significant plants throughout Zoo grounds.

Safari Cart Rental

 

Enjoy a relaxing, personalized, guided two-hour tour of the Zoo by renting a Safari Cart.

(Due to heavier crowds, Safari Carts are not available during Spring Break in March or special Zoo events.)

Safari Voyage (closed until March)

 

Ahoy, matey! The Safari Voyage cruises Zoo Lake. Guests will enjoy a smooth and relaxing 15- to 20-minute ride while the boat captain shares interesting facts about the Zoo, the boat and upcoming events. Each Boat seats up to 50 guests and is disability friendly. The dock is located near the Noble Aquatic Center: Aquaticus.

Approximate Hours: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Cost: One-Way Trip is $2.00 adult, $1.00 ages 3-11 and Seniors; Unlimited Rides are $4.50 adult, $3.50 ages 3-11 and Seniors.

Free for ages 2 and under.

Located on Zoo Lake.

Sea Lion Presentation (closed until March)

 

Schedule: Wednesday through Sundays only; Mid-March through October 31.

Hours: 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Cost:$2 per person; Free for ages 2 and under.

Stingray Bay!

Hours: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., daily. Subject to change without notice due to weather conditions, temperatures below 55 degrees or routine animal care.

Cost: $3 per person. Children two and under are free. ZooFriends' memberships do not apply.

Strollers, food and drink are not allowed in the pool area.

All guests must wash their hands at the hand-washing station before entering the pool area.

Located just beyond the Canopy Food Court on the way to the Aquaticus building.

Zoo Walking Trails

 

Nine walking trails, ranging in distance from .32 miles to 2.87 miles, are located and marked throughout the Zoo.

Open during regular Zoo hours of 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Walking Trail maps are available in Guest Relations or on our full website at okczoo.com.

ZooZeum

 

Visit the only museum of its kind in the country! The Patricia and Byron J. Gambulos ZooZeum enables guests to experience the zoological and botanical memories they have encountered at the Zoo for more than 100 years. 

Mid-March through October: Daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

November through mid-March: Daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Free with paid Zoo admission.

Located next to the Elephant Pavilion in the Elephant Habitat.

Weekend Keeper Connections (closed until March)

 

Keeper Connections are short presentations by Zoo keepers about Zoo animals and stationed throughout Zoo grounds on Saturdays and Sundays only beginning in mid-March and running through the end of October each year. Weekend Keeper Connections occur weather permitting.
