BE AN ANIMAL’S SECRET SANTA WITH THE OKC ZOO’S WILD WISH TREE
Make a holiday wish come true for your favorite furry, feathered and scaly friends at the Zoo! With the Zoo’s Wild Wish Tree, secret Santas and animal lovers statewide have the opportunity to contribute gifts for our animals! Located in the ZooFriends office at the Global Plaza, the tree is decorated to the hilt with handmade ornaments bearing descriptions of enrichment items for Zoo residents. Diverse in size, shape and cost, each wish list item has been selected with the sole intent of generating the interest, curiosity, play and enjoyment of a particular animal or species.
“Wild wish” items vary in price range from just over $1 on up and include a wide range of items to provide entertainment and support for our animals. Some examples of “wild wish” items include:
- Live reef sand for Aquaticus ($30 at pet stores, 20 bags needed)
- Un-popped popcorn for Birds ($1.36 at grocery stores, unlimited quantities needed)
- Perfume or cologne for Cat Forest ($5 at grocery and drug stores, unlimited quantities)
- Kiddie pools for Great Escape ($7 at stores, 4 needed)
The complete list of items on the tree is available for viewing by clicking HERE. “Wild wish” presents may be dropped off during regular office hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Donations will be accepted through December 31, 2009. For more information call (405) 425-0262. The Zoo is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
