PUMPKIN DRIVE AT THE OKC ZOO
Witch pumpkin will you choose to bring to the Oklahoma City Zoo’s annual pumpkin drive? Bring a pumpkin larger than your head to the Zoo and receive free admission that day. The pumpkin drive held from October 1-11 is presented by The 21st Running of the Oklahoma Derby at Remington Park. Orange you glad you heard about this spooktacular opportunity?
The Zoo crew will transform your pumpkins into haunt couture–carefully carving and placing these jack-o-lanterns in spectacular spots for our 26th annual Haunt the Zoo for Halloween, October 26-31. Squash your fears and join in the fun nightly from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Donated pumpkins adorn the trail during Haunt the Zoo, which provides a unique and safe alternative to traditional trick-or-treating. Warning: goosebumps may occur.
Presented by Kohl’s Care for Kids and Children’s Hospital, admission for Haunt the Zoo is $6 per child for pre-purchased tickets or $7 per child for tickets purchased during the event (at the gate). Beginning October 1, tickets will be available at the Zoo. Admission includes an official treat bag. Accompanying adults, 18 years of age or older, are admitted free. Haunt the Zoo sponsors as of September 25, 2009: Allegiance Credit Union, American Income Life Insurance Company, AT&T Pioneers, OK 1st Chapter, Brown’s Bakery, Chesapeake Energy, Delaware North Co., First Security Bank, Fred Jones Family Foundation, Frito-Lay, Great Plains Coca-Cola, Great Plains Dr Pepper, Lippert Bros., Inc., Magic 104.1 KMGL/92.5 KOMA, McDonald’s, Walmart and ZooFriends.
