OKC ZOO HOSTS HOPABALOO

Sunday, April 12, is HOPabaloo at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden, and the Zoo has an "egg"citing day of fun planned for all ages.  

Make plans to have brunch with the Easter bunny at The Canopy Restaurant.  Those who attend may feast on a delectable spread of spiral slice ham, roast beef, scrambled eggs, pancakes with fruit toppings, macaroni and cheese, flame roasted vegetables, roasted apple orzo, fresh fruit, garden salad, chocolate pie, coffee, tea, orange juice, apple juice and milk. Brunch participants may choose to eat at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. or 1 p.m., and children who attend the brunch will be automatically signed up to participate in the Tiny Tot Egg Hunts for children five and under. Brunch is $15 for adults and $12 for children ages three-11 and seniors ages 65 and older. Children two and under eat free. Brunch includes Zoo admission. ZooFriends members receive 10% off their brunch total. Reservations are required and may be made by calling (405) 425-0262.

That's not all! The following activities will be "hop"pening on grounds from 1 to 3 p.m. and are free with regular admission.

  • Krispy Kreme Doughnut Decoration Station (Global Plaza): Decorate then devour a tasty doughnut.
  • Craft Station (Global Plaza): Kids can decorate their own bunny ears. 
  • Animal Enrichments: Watch as some of our animals search for eggs!
  • 1 p.m. Otters & Beaver (Big Rivers at Oklahoma Trails)
  • 1:30 p.m. Raccoons & Skunks (both Oklahoma Trails)
  • 2 p.m. Gorillas (Great EscApe)
  • 2:30 p.m. Grizzly Bears (Oklahoma Trails)

 

  • Tiny Tot Egg Scrambles (Grassy area by the Roughneck Picnic Pavilion): For children five and under. Each egg scramble is based on a first come, first served basis and include prizes. Candy for the eggs provided by Target. Egg scramble times are as follows:
  • 1:30 p.m. (2 year olds and under)
  • 2 p.m. (3 year olds)
  • 2:30 p.m. (4 year olds)
  • 2:45 p.m. (5 year olds)
