February happenings at the Oklahoma City Zoo.
The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden proudly announces Amy Stephens, Naturalist Instructor Supervisor as the 2011 Ralph D. Harris Employee of the Year. The Employee of the Year award is selected each year by the Zoo’s Employee Recognition Committee and management staff.
The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden got a big, early Christmas gift this week. Rex the Asian elephant arrived on Tuesday, December 13 to join the zoo’s two adult female elephants Asha and Chandra and 8-month-old female Malee, bringing the zoo’s Asian elephant herd to four.
The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden sadly announces the death of Zephra, a 19-year-old Grevy’s zebra on Wednesday, November 23.

The Oklahoma Zoological Society (OZS) is pleased to announce they have received a one million dollar donation from the Kirkpatrick Family Fund and Kirkpatrick Foundation Inc. Mr. Christian Keesee, Chairman of the Kirkpatrick Foundation and the President of the Kirkpatrick Family Fund announced the gift July 28 at the Oklahoma City Zoo’s Noble Aquatic Center.

It’s “Art Gone Wild: Paintings by OKC Zoo Animals 2011.” Join the Oklahoma City Zoo at the In Your Eye Gallery in the Historic Paseo Arts District for the second annual Art Gone Wild art show featuring works of art created by our own favorite furry, scaled and feathered friends! Each work of art has been made especially for the show by the Zoo’s resident animal artists, with some help from their keepers.
