Baby Elephant and Mom Have Gift Registry at the OKC Zoo

She has her mother’s trunk and her father’s eyes and the pitter patter of little elephant feet at the Oklahoma City Zoo has caused all of our hearts to thump with delight! But, what do you get a baby elephant and her mom for a gift? Many of you have asked so the Zoo and the Oklahoma Zoological Society have created a baby elephant gift tree. Located in the ZooFriends office inside the main plaza, the tree is decorated to the hilt with creative ornaments bearing descriptions of items that the elephant caretakers and Zoo staff have suggested for our newest arrival and her herd. Diverse in size, shape and cost, each gift item has been selected with the intent of generating the interest, curiosity,  play and enjoyment of the elephants. Some items will even help the Zoo record significant happenings as the youngster grows and reaches various milestones.

Elephant gift items vary in price range from $5 on up including:

·  Boomer Balls – www.boomerball.com

·  Blow Up Pools – graduating sizes

·  Home Depot Gift Cards

·  Lowe’s Gift Cards

·  Weebles – www.ottoenvironmental.com
