MAY HAPPENINGS AT THE OKC ZOO

NOW – AUGUST 15:  #110 WAYS TO ZOO IT SUMMER CELEBRATION

There must be a gazillion things to do at the Zoo!  Well, at least 110! It’s the Zoo’s 110th anniversary and we’re celebrating with 110 days of giveaways--from April 27 - August 15, 2014! Kids can print out and decorate a Zoo Explorer, letting their creative juices run wild. Then, come to the Zoo to register to win prizes announced daily! You can also take photos with your Zoo Explorer at the Zoo and post them to the Zoo’s Facebook page for bonus prizes at facebook.com/okczoobg. (Parents, you can enter, too!) The #110 Ways to Zoo It promotion is brought to you by News 9, Jake FM, Magic 104, and the Oklahoma City Zoo! No purchase is necessary.  The Zoo Explorer, entry form and promotion details can be found at www.okczoo.com , news9.com, jakefm.com or magic104.com.

NOW – MAY 11:  DR PEPPER “I SPY” ZOO SAFARI

Get your game on at the Oklahoma City Zoo! Play our free Dr Pepper "I Spy" Zoo Safari through May 11, 2014, for kids ages 11 and under. Each week, the Zoo Safari will lead you to four “I Spy” clues on Zoo grounds. Each sign has a QR code that can be scanned to learn fun facts. Once kids find the clues, they can come to Guest Relations to tell what they saw and pick up their prize. Clues and prizes will change weekly, so kids can play again! During the game, follow us on Facebook and Twitter to learn how you could win Dr Pepper Zoo Safari swag! For more information, visit the Zoo’s Web site at www.okczoo.com or call (405)425-0262.

NOW - MAY 12:  GIVE FOR GORILLAS CELL PHONE CHALLENGE

Calling everyone who’s wild about saving gorillas! The Oklahoma City Zoo invites you to help save gorillas by donating old or used cell phones to the Give for Gorillas Cell Phone Challenge through May 12, 2014. The group or individual collecting the most phones will win an ultimate prize package from the Zoo. All cell phone donations can be dropped off at the Guest Relations office from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily.  Recycling cell phones can have a positive impact on the environment. Phones donated to the Zoo will be dismantled and disposed of following strict environmental guidelines by our partners at the Eco-Cell Recycling Program. One hundred percent of the Zoo's proceeds from the challenge will be donated to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International.  For more information and helpful materials, visit www.okczoo.com.
