The Oklahoma City Zoo’s popular Nature Explorers preschool program has added a second class for the 2013-2014 school year due to increased interest. Nature Explorers is designed to develop and enhance appreciation for animals and nature in children ages three to five years old. The program runs from September 24, 2013, through May 22, 2014.

Parents can choose a two-day program (Tuesdays and Thursdays) for $195 per month or a three-day program (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) for $245 per month. Each option requires a $50 enrollment fee. All classes are held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Zoo’s Rosser Conservation Education Center.

Nature Explorers assists parents and guardians in the overall development of their children by providing a safe and exciting environment for personal connections with nature’s building blocks. Within a stimulating Zoo setting, young children can develop physically, socially, intellectually and environmentally. Classes include learning activities, outside time and nature walks around the Zoo, indoor play time, snacks and educational visits from some of the Zoo’s favorite animal ambassadors.

All Zoo personnel have completed OSBI background checks, and the Zoo has EMTs and first responders on grounds at all times. For more information about the Nature Explorers preschool program, call (405) 425-0257.
