Open enrollment for the Oklahoma City Zoo’s popular Nature Explorers' preschool program begins Monday, April 15, 2013, for the next school season beginning September 3, 2013, and ending May 22, 2014. Nature Explorers is designed to develop and enhance appreciation for animals and nature in children ages three to five years old.

Parents can choose a two-day program (Tuesday and Thursdays) for $195 per month or a three-day program (Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays) for $245 per month. Each option requires a $50 enrollment fee. All classes are held from 9 a.m. to1 p.m. in the Zoo’s Rosser Conservation Education Center.

Nature Explorers assists parents and guardians in the overall development of their children by providing a safe and exciting environment for personal connections with nature’s building blocks. Within a stimulating Zoo setting, young children can develop physically, socially, intellectually and environmentally. Classes include learning activities, outside time and nature walks around the Zoo, indoor play time, snacks and educational visits from some of the Zoo’s favorite animal ambassadors.

All Zoo personnel have completed OSBI background checks, and the Zoo has EMTs and first responders on grounds at all times. For more information about the Nature Explorers Preschool program, call (405) 425-0257.
