OZS and the OKC Zoo break ground on Joan Kirkpatrick Animal Hospital

 

WHAT: The Oklahoma Zoological Society and the Oklahoma City Zoo will officially break ground on the new Joan Kirkpatrick Animal Hospital at the Oklahoma City Zoo Friday, March 29, 2013, at 9 a.m.

             Dr. Jennifer D’Agostino, Director of Veterinary Services of the Oklahoma City Zoo.

WHEN: Friday, March 29, 2013, at 9 a.m.

 

WHERE: Oklahoma City Zoo

 

DETAILS: The new $9 million Joan Kirkpatrick Animal Hospital will equip the Zoo’s veterinarian staff with the tools and space needed to provide the very best treatment to the wild animals entrusted to the Zoo’s care. The hospital will be located on Zoo grounds and will allow Zoo guests unprecedented access to a viewing suite where exams, surgeries and other medical procedures will take place. This new state-of-the-art animal hospital will ensure the Zoo remains one of the nation’s leading authorities in zoological animal care.

 

OZS was created in 1954 to support and promote the Zoo and its four purposes of education, conservation, zoological research and recreation. OZS accomplishes this mission through membership drives, fundraising, capital campaigns, marketing, special events and public relations.
