WILD TUESDAYS STORY TIME SAFARIS AT THE OKC ZOO
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go." ~ Dr. Seuss, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!"
The ever popular Wild Tuesdays Story Time Safaris are back at the Oklahoma City Zoo! Children will go to the ocean, the farm, the jungle and many magical places every Tuesday in June and July. Children 11 and under are invited to join us for story time sessions at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. at Grandma’s Porch located inside the Zoo’s Children Zoo. In addition to hearing stories, kids will enjoy craft activities, a complimentary snack and juice box, and meeting a zoo care giver at the end of each story session. Story sessions last approximately 25 minutes.
Volunteers from the Junior League of Oklahoma City (JLOC) will read an assortment of children’s books on Tuesdays, and for the month of June the stories will be ocean related in celebration of World Oceans Day and The Ocean Project! JLOC encourage children to participate in their “eager reader” program this summer during Wild Tuesdays Story Time Safaris. Pick up an “eager reader” card at any story session then use it to list all the books your kiddos read with your family. Bring completed cards back to the Zoo on any “Wild Tuesday” and receive a free book. There’s no limit to how many eager reader cards children can complete. The Zoo and JLOC are wild about reading. Are you? Wild Tuesdays Story Time Safaris is free with admission. Group reservations are not required.
