Being a chaperone is a great way to enjoy a visit to the Zoo and take on an important role that helps create a positive experience for all. Here are a few tips to make your trip a good one. • We suggest one chaperone for every seven students, children or individuals with special needs. • Know who is in your group. • When you arrive, a Zoo greeter will escort you and your group to the plaza area to wait for who ever is paying. • You will be given a large sign with your school's name on it. • When everyone is together the group will proceed through the turnstiles. • Students should stay with their chaperones. • Make sure you know the plan for the day including lunch arrangements and the departure time. • Let the students know that you are visiting the Zoo to have fun and to learn at the same time. • Spend some time at each exhibit. Read the informational graphics as a group. • If a student gets lost or injured, go to the Guest Relations Office located at the main entrance or find a Zoo employee for help. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
